2025-2026

Data

In the second week of June, we celebrated one of our favorite milestones of the year: all 86 of our 4-year-old students graduated from CFNC, with every child leaving kindergarten ready. Each ceremony featured a class song, remarks from our Executive Director and teachers, the presentation of preschool completion certificates, and cupcakes to celebrate. This year’s graduation was especially meaningful because many of these children spent two years at CFNC. It was a bittersweet moment for our staff, but we are proud to watch them continue their educational journey, one that your support helped make possible. Looking ahead, we’re excited to welcome another full year of learning. All 139 preschool spots are already filled, with families on our waitlist, and we’re thrilled that 42 of our 3-year-old students will be returning for a second year this fall.

The two graphs show our students’ progress on the GOLD Assessment, comparing results from fall to spring. GOLD is a nationally recognized tool that helps teachers track each child’s development throughout the school year. By observing children during everyday classroom activities, teachers measure growth in key areas like language, early math, social-emotional skills, and physical development, ensuring every child is on track for kindergarten success.

In the fall, a larger portion of our students fell into the “below expectations” category. By spring, that group had shrunk significantly. This growth is especially meaningful when you consider that CFNC serves both 3- and 4-year-olds: many of the students who start the year still building foundational skills are our youngest learners, who then have a full additional year with us to catch up before kindergarten. That’s what makes this progress so impressive: it reflects real growth within a single school year, not just a one-time snapshot.

The results speak for themselves: 90% of our students were deemed kindergarten-ready based on this standardized assessment, a testament to the dedication of our teachers and the impact of your support.

  • Launched our first ever Teacher Partner Program to strengthen instructional practices through peer observations, shared best practices, and a culture of continuous professional growth.
  • 2 of our teachers made national honor roll for their CLASS scores.
