See What’s Been Happening This Summer at CFNC!

August 10, 2018 Susan Keightley

A lot has been happening at CFNC this summer. From reinstating our summer program, to planning the first annual Relay for Pre-K event, needless to say we’ve been pretty busy. Here are some of the things we’ve been up to this summer in case you missed it!

Summer Program
This summer, CFNC had enough funding to reinstate a Summer Program for some of our students who needed a little extra help before entering kindergarten. We kept them busy this summer! They visited the Smithsonian Air and Space museum, the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian, the US Botanic Gardens, and the College Park Aviation Museum where they learned about the history of aviation and were inspired by some of the great pilots of history!

In addition to the many field trips they took this summer, our students learned about the life cycle of a caterpillar and even got to watch their own caterpillar turn into a butterfly! To celebrate the end of the summer program, our students got to work together to make their own pizzas for their class pizza party.

School Supply Drive
It’s time for CFNC’s annual School Supply Drive! CFNC is committed to keeping our program free for parents, which is why we need your help to collect the vital supplies our students need to be successful during the school year! Interested in participating? Check out our school supply list here.

CFNC still has spots open for the 2018-2019 school year. Do you or someone you know qualify for CFNC services? Enroll today. Contact Enrollment Coordinator, Nancy Lobo, at nlobo@cfnc-online.org or (703) 836-0214 ext. 229
