The Child & Family Network Centers (CFNC) to Host Annual Spring Benefit

Experience a night surrounded by your favorite childhood stories, and enjoy fine cuisine and live music at the gorgeous home of Ray and Shaista Mahmood to benefit Alexandria’s most deserving preschoolers.

(Alexandria, VA.) – The Child & Family Network Centers (CFNC) will host its annual Spring Benefit:  Black, White, and Read All Over on Friday, April 28, 2017 from 7 p.m. – 11 p.m. at the beautiful home of Ray and Shaista Mahmood, presented by Craig and Kari Shapero.

Each year, gracious individuals and sponsors gather to improve the odds for preschool-aged children in the City of Alexandria who may be at serious risk for school failure.

Committee Member Julie Howard explains why she is so proud to support CFNC. “CFNC is doing amazing things to support the low income children of Alexandria who would otherwise miss out on the enormous benefits of preschool.  This year’s event benefits their program that is truly impactful on the lives of the children and families they serve.  I look forward to watching magic happen at CFNC this year. A smiling face of a four year old in a CFNC classroom is really all the evidence I need that CFNC fills a necessary and important role in Alexandria, and I am proud to be able to support their work.”

This year’s event, which is presented by Craig and Kari Shapero, will transport guests back to their favorite children’s books with the theme Black, White and Read All Over, featuring literacy-inspired cocktails and cuisine, as well as an exciting live auction and entertainment.   Live auction packages include: a weekend trip to Virginia’s wine country, two nights in NYC with VIP experiences, a private chef in your own home for an evening, a five-night trip to Guatemala, and so much more! CFNC appreciates the support of our miracle maker sponsors, Passport Auto and The Peterson Family Foundation. Thank you to our generous corporate sponsors of this year’s event:  M&T Bank, Venable LLP, CareFirst, Halt, Buzas and Powell, Ltd., Kaiser Permanente, Lobkovich Kitchen Designs, Wegmans, and Comcast, as well as our media sponsors Alexandria Woman Magazine, Mount Vernon Voice, and Zebra Magazine.  For tickets and for more information about The Child and Family Network Centers 2017 Spring Benefit, please visit: https://cfnc-online.org/springbenefit/ or call our Development Office at (703) 836-0214.
