The Child & Family Network Centers (CFNC) was recognized by the 2018-2019 Catalogue for Philanthropy as one of the best charities in the DC area. Our comprehensive early education program and health and family services set us apart as leaders in preschool education in the city of Alexandria. This past Sunday, CFNC was featured on NBC4 Washington with Erika Gonzales where Executive Director, Lisa Carter, discussed CFNC’s program and the importance of a high-quality early education for low income children.
“Early childhood education is essential because kids’ brains are developing so much between 0-5. Studies show that if they have a high-quality early education they are much more likely to graduate high school.” Says Executive Director, Lisa Carter.
One of the key components of CFNC’s success is making sure our students’ parents have the support that they need to advocate for their child’s education. CFNC helps our families strive toward self-sufficiency, creating a stable environment for our students in the home so they can learn at their best in the classroom. CFNC educates Alexandria’s children and their families.
