A lot has changed in the last two weeks at CFNC, in Alexandria, and in the world. But one thing that remains the same is our commitment to the community and to our students and families. In the last two weeks, we have been blown away by the response of our supporters and volunteers. We’ve collected and given out over 100 bags of food to our families from drop off points in their own neighborhoods.
We’ve also identified additional areas of need for our families, and implemented drives for the following materials:
- Books: Help us build up our students’ home libraries to support their literacy skills at home! We’re collecting books (ages 3-5 level) in multiple languages
- Kindergarten supplies: Back to school shopping can be expensive, so we’re inviting the community to collect supplies for our kids. Help ensure our students have the supplies they need to be successful in kindergarten!
- Clothing drive: Kids grow quickly and for families hovering just above the poverty line, it can be difficult to keep up with their ever-changing sizes. That’s why we’re holding a clothing drive to help relieve some of the financial burdens families face to provide clothing for their children.
