Build a Playground on #GivingTuesday

November 15, 2018 Anna Shults

Overgrown shrubs, outdated equipment, that’s not how you should describe a playground. Unfortunately, for 16 students at CFNC, it is. On #GivingTuesday on November 27, the global day of giving, CFNC aims to raise $5,000 to update our playground. (Give now!) Playgrounds are extensions of the classroom and support our students’ development. On #GivingTuesday, you’re not just building a playground, you’re building a brighter future for 16 low-income children in your community. Just take a look at these cute faces:

A playground is an extension of our classrooms. Outdoor learning spaces – like robustly designed playgrounds – are integral to the development of our preschool-aged students. Access to a high-quality playground supports the development of the whole child, including:

– Gross motor skills

– Social and emotional skills

– Problem-solving

Children who incorporate active play – specifically outdoor active play – are more attentive in the classroom.

Indoor and outdoor play go hand-in-hand. And one area suffers, the whole classroom suffers. Please consider giving to our #GivingTuesday campaign and supporting a new playground for one of our classrooms.

If you’re interested in contributing to #GivingTuesday, your gift will be MATCHED thanks to PNC! Just click here to contribute to the playground today.
