The Child & Family Network Centers (CFNC) Board of Directors welcomes Heather O’Neill Jelks as the new Board chair to focus on strategic growth.
ALEXANDRIA, VA-Nautilus Coaching & Consulting is pleased to announce that Heather O’Neill Jelks, President, has officially assumed the position of Board Chair of The Child & Family Network Centers (CFNC).
CFNC is a local Alexandria nonprofit that provides free preschool education for 138 children and families living at or below 250% of the poverty line, who earn too much to qualify for Head Start but not enough to afford their children with a private preschool education.
“It is a tremendous honor to serve as Chair of the board of The Child & Family Network Centers,” said Jelks. “I look forward to working with the board, the staff and all of our supporters to ensure CFNC delivers on our promise to prepare low-income Alexandria children for kindergarten and that CFNC has the adequate funds to support this mission.”
Jelks has served on the board of CFNC since 2012. As president of Nautilus Coaching & Consulting, LLC, she focuses on leadership and team development, with an expertise in executive coaching, leadership team coaching, and leadership training design and delivery. Her role as President makes her a natural fit to lead CFNC’s Board of Directors.
“We are so fortunate to have Heather’s expertise and talents at the helm of our Board of Directors,” said Executive Director Lisa Carter. “Heather’s leadership skills will not only increase our board’s effectiveness but her passion for the children and families we serve can only help us to make an even larger impact on the Alexandria community we serve.”
